Our Studio
Cinematic Mixing Theatre
Our Dolby Digital licensed mixing theatre features an 8.8 metre perforated projection screen, with a professional 2K cinema projector. The 7.1 speaker system allows projects to be screened and mixed in a full theatrical environment, ideal for feature films, documentary features, short films and cinema commercials. The console is composed of two Fairlight systems and one ProTools Ultimate system, all interconnected to provide the power and adaptability required for complex theatrical mixes. The theatre has a flexible layout, comfortably seating up to 40 screening guests.
Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment Studio
Newly constructed, our Dolby Atmos studio has been designed and built specifically to edit and mix immersive audio content for streaming service and other home entertainment products. It has a 7.1.4 monitoring layout for a fully immersive audio experience paired with a Dolby Vision compatible 65-inch OLED television for spectacular content viewing. The DaVinci Resolve Studio system is controlled with a Blackmagic mixing console housed in a custom-built hardwood desk. The studio is structurally separated from the surrounding rooms to reduce ambient noise, and the interior has been fine-tuned to achieve the required noise ratings. With no windows, the lights can be dimmed to reproduce a more cinematic feel, or kept bright to simulate a lounge room environment.
Recording Studio
Our recording studio was designed by acoustic experts and has been specifically constructed so that the room is isolated from external audio and vibration. This creates an ultra-quiet environment for the highest quality audio recording. Foley pits are built into the floor, including concrete, floorboard, gravel, sand, and earth surfaces. We have a wide range of props available in the studio for foley recording.
The studio is also ideal for recording ADR and voice recording of all types. Our control room is equipped with a DaVinci Resolve Studio system, with native ADR features providing onscreen text, sync beeps and streamers. Our extensive microphone collection, including Neumann, Sennheiser, AKG and Electrovoice microphones, offers an option for every vocal type and range. Remote recording sessions are easily catered for with the Source Connect plugin, or via a Zoom call, so that directors and producers can hear and direct their talent from another location.
Edit Suites
Our four audio edit suites are light, bright and airy, and have been purpose-built to create maximum sound isolation from each other and the outside world. With double-glazed, openable windows, our editors can have the option of fresh air and daylight without compromising the noise isolation. Wall-mounted Neumann active speakers, in a variety of layouts ranging from 2.0 to 5.1, give our edit rooms powerful monitoring for every editing requirement. Each room is equipped with a sit-stand desk, split-system air conditioning, a Blackmagic Desktop Audio Editor, and a powerful PC with DaVinci Resolve Studio.
Our Location
Situated in the heart of bustling South Yarra, public transportation, restaurants, and shops are only a stone’s throw away. Right on our doorstep in South Yarra Train Station, with multiple lines running to and from the city and south-eastern suburbs, and the number 58 tram stopping just nearby. Along Toorak Road there are shops and eateries to suit every need, and we are just a few minutes walk from Chapel Street, with its famous shopping district.
